So This is were it all started. The beautiful router you see above was designed to make custom computer cases and eventually to make its replacement. Constructed from 1/2" steel this cnc machine weighs in at about 300 pounds and cost more then I care to mention.

build time: 1 year (including time I was unable to work do to classes)
jog speed: 10" per minute (I believe it can do much better with some fine tuning)
precision: +/- .0005"
chip removal: liquid
machining capability: Aluminum, Wood, Plastic

First fully automated cut in Al:
It is hard to tell from the picture but the bottom of the cut has mirror finish.
